We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer with a strong mechanical engineering background to Join a leading organization specializing in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) solutions for advanced defense systems. The company develops high-level technical documentation, operational training programs, and innovative software-based training solutions including simulators and VR/AR applications. What You'll Do:
- Author and maintain high-quality technical documentation for complex mechanical and electro-mechanical defense systems (Maintenance Manuals, Operation Manuals, IETMs, Technical Instructions)
- Write detailed and structured procedures for disassembly and assembly processes
- Document system operation workflows and performance procedures
- Develop preventive and corrective maintenance documentation
- Interpret and work directly with mechanical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, system engineers, development teams, and manufacturing personnel
- Ensure documentation accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with relevant military and industry standards
- Translate complex engineering knowledge into clear, structured, and field-ready documentation
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a technical writer for mechanical, electro-mechanical, or physical systems
- Strong hands-on understanding of mechanics and hydraulics
- Demonstrated experience writing maintenance, operation, and assembly documentation
- Ability to understand mechanical assemblies, subsystems, tolerances, and failure modes
- Experience working directly with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Native-level English or equivalent professional fluency (written and spoken)
- Exceptional attention to technical detail and accuracy
Significant Advantages:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in the defense industry or working with military systems
- Familiarity with field maintenance and operational environments
- Ability to read and interpret CAD models and technical drawings
- Experience writing documentation according to military or defense standards
