We are looking for a Core Banking Systems Analyst, working on complex, business-critical core systems in an IBM Mainframe and COBOL environment. The role combines business and systems analysis, technical specifications, and end-to-end ownership from requirements gathering through development, testing, implementation, and production.
What You'll Do:
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications (HLD / DLD).
- Analyze existing systems and processes and identify gaps against business needs.
- Work closely with COBOL/Mainframe developers, QA teams, business stakeholders, and additional interfaces.
- Support development, testing, implementation, and production deployment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with DB2 and SQL Server databases.
- Manage and track work plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Support system availability and business continuity in a mission-critical environment.
- Work in a complex, matrix-based environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst working with COBOL-based core systems in a Mainframe environment - Must
- Experience working directly with COBOL/Mainframe development teams - Must
- Experience in the banking or financial sector - Must
- Familiarity with IBM Mainframe and COBOL - Must
- Knowledge of DB2 and SQL Server - Must
- Experience gathering business requirements and writing detailed technical specifications (HLD / DLD) - Must
- Relevant academic degree, practical engineering diploma, or professional training in Information Systems / Systems Analysis - Must
- Strong system-level understanding and experience working with complex, large-scale systems - Must
- Experience with MASAV (Israeli Automated Clearing House), account management, or customer management systems - Advantages
