What You'll Do:
- Lead the Backend Chapter and serve as the professional authority for over 50 Backend engineers across multiple teams.
- Define and promote Backend development standards, engineering best practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Partner with architects and engineering leaders to drive strategic technical decisions and long-term architecture.
- Design and review scalable, cloud-native Backend services based on Microservices and Event-Driven architectures.
- Mentor engineers, foster technical growth, and build a strong engineering culture centered on innovation and continuous learning.
- Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development workflows.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives and encourage knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve platforms, performance, and developer productivity.
- Support critical production challenges and provide technical leadership for complex engineering initiatives.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on Backend software engineering experience building large-scale production systems.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams or organizational units.
- Strong background in fintech or startup environments, with experience building financial products or platforms.
- Deep expertise in Java and modern Backend development.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, Microservices architecture, scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Experience working with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and/or OpenShift.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices.
